As the summer quickly approaches and we move towards easing of social distancing restrictions you might be starting to think about getting back out there and enjoying what our beautiful province has to offer.

In today’s blog post we decided to focus on some outdoor adventure ideas that we can share with our clients that are located right within our own backyard of beautiful District of West Vancouver. Majority of our clients are very familiar with West Vancouver and the wonderful amenities it has to offer; but for others that are traveling from far it may not be as familiar.

Let’s start by a little tour of west van shall we?
A Little History Lesson…
Aside from boasting breath taking views of the sea wall, Dundrave and Amble side beach West Vancouver is home to many beautiful attractions that are fun for the entire family.
According to Wikipedia The District of West Vancouver was first incorporated on March 15th 1912 and is home to over 42,000 residents.
Moreover, the vast majority of the residents are baby boomers, retirees or those nearing retirement age. Some of West Vancouver’s inhabitants work from their homes, while others take a 10 minute commute to downtown Vancouver while crossing the gorgeous Lionsgate Bridge (If you have not crossed the Lionsgate Bridge you absolutely have to, I assure you the views will take your breath away, especially if you are cycling).

Additionally, as soon as you cross the bridge you will notice Park Royal Shopping Center.
(side note: Did you know that Park Royal Shopping Center was Canada’s first Mall ever built?… interesting ha). According to Wikipedia Park Royal Mall first opened its doors in the early 1950s and has grown and expanded ever since.
One of the recent exciting additions that has come to Park Royal has been the addition of a beautiful and grand movie theatre located upstairs next to the Brick. So the next time you are coming to La Rouge Hair and Spa for a haircut, hightlight or a just a simple blow dry you may end up finding yourself doing a little shopping or catching a movie at the Cineplex movie theatre. (Just go easy on the popcorn..just kidding)
Just remember one thing that your mental health and well being is just as important as your physical health. Therefore, always try to balance it with feeding both. After dropping into LaRougeHairandSpa for some pampering go for a long walk along the shores of beautiful Ambleside beach for some exercise.
If you get hungry or thirsty one of our favorite places nearby to grab a healthy bite is Heirloom. They offer the healthiest collection of salads, sandwiches and smoothies and best of all they are only a 10 minute walk to our salon and Ambleside Beach. (We practice what we preach and we always recommend our clients to shop local and support the local economy especially during these times.)

Thank you for taking the time to read this article and we would like to wish you all a beautiful week ahead full of love, health, happiness and laughter.
